Six core engagements,
one person accountable for all of them.

Tax and accounting work is the licensed, regulated part of what I do — so it's organized into six clear engagements below. But most of the value happens in the conversation around them: turning the numbers into a decision, and having someone in your corner while you make it. Pick the piece you need today, or hand over the whole picture.

01

Individual Tax Preparation

From the simplest return to a household with real complexity. Filed right, explained in plain language, with a CPA who's still there in July if something comes up.

02

Business & Entity Returns

S-corps, partnerships, and C-corps (1120-S, 1065, 1120), prepared by someone who knows the business behind the numbers, not just the form.

03

Bookkeeping & Monthly Financial Statements

Clean, current books and a monthly close, so you always know where the business actually stands — not just at tax time.

04

Payroll Coordination

Most clients run payroll through ADP, Paychex, or similar — I work alongside whatever you already use rather than replacing it, so payroll numbers, books, and returns all agree.

05

Tax Planning & Advisory

Proactive strategy built during the year, while there's still time to act on it — not a look back at what already happened.

06

IRS & State Representation

Notices, audits, and resolution handled directly — including help getting properly set up as your authorized representative (POA) with the IRS and Indiana's INTIME system.

Who this fits best

Small enough to know your file. Big enough to handle it.

I'm comfortable with nearly everything — from the smallest, simplest individual returns up through established businesses doing roughly $10M in gross sales. The practice is especially well-suited to small, service-based businesses doing a few million in annual revenue that want monthly bookkeeping and financial statements, have payroll handled through an outside provider, and want the owner's personal return prepared by the same person who knows the business — because the business, the owner, and the family are really one economic picture.

Two things are referred out: complex trust returns and international filings — the kind of work that needs more infrastructure than a one-person, high-attention practice can responsibly offer.

Beyond the return

The conversation is the value.

A lot of what matters most doesn't fit neatly into a tax form. Longer, more attentive meetings leave room to flag the things a rushed once-a-year appointment never gets to — like:

When to loop in an insurance agent

General guidance on gaps worth a second look — I don't sell policies or take a referral fee, so it's just what I'd tell a friend.

Navigating state tax portals

Plain walkthroughs of INTIME and other state systems, so you're not guessing alone.

Getting set up as POA

Proper authorization with the IRS and Indiana INTIME, so I can actually speak on your behalf when it matters.

I also hold Series 7 and Series 66 registrations, which means I'm qualified to discuss general financial concepts — like why a 401(k) might be worth setting up. I'm not currently offering investment advisory services, don't manage or service accounts, and don't take commissions on referrals.
